Dr Zafer Bekiroğulları

CPsychol, AFBPsS, FCBPis, BA Hons, BA, MEd, gCert, PhD · HCPC Registered Counselling Psychologist · Registered EuroPsy Psychologist, Clinical and Health

Counselling Psychologist and Chartered Psychologist. He holds a BA (Hons) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Glasgow Caledonian University and a gCert in Family Therapy from King’s College London. As Principal Investigator of the ESPAD Northern Cyprus study, he has contributed for many years to addiction research, prevention policy and CBT training in Northern Cyprus and across Europe.

Psychologist and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with an MSc from King’s College London. As Vice President of CBPis, she is committed to advancing evidence-based psychological practice and promoting high standards within the profession. Her work combines scientific rigour with a deeply human understanding of psychological change, helping adults move beyond persistent patterns and create meaningful, lasting change.

Clinical psychologist in private practice since 2014, offering psychological assessment, counselling and psychotherapy. She holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Southampton and an MSc in Clinical Psychology, together with a Master Practitioner Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy accredited by the British Psychological Society and completed under formal supervision.

Sevim Y. A. Tanalp

Developmental Psychologist, FCBPis, BSc, MSc · Master Practitioner Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Developmental Psychologist working in psychological assessment and psychotherapy across childhood, adolescence and adulthood. She holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Greenwich and an MSc in Developmental Psychology from Maastricht University, together with a Master Practitioner Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In private practice she provides individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults, integrating developmental and cognitive behavioural perspectives. Her clinical work also includes neuropsychological assessment and psychological testing, with attention assessments for children and adults, and training in WISC-IV and the Moxo Attention Test. Drawing on developmental psychology, clinical practice, assessment and academic teaching, she brings a developmentally informed, evidence based approach to psychological care.

Governance

How the Society is governed

Under Article 10 of the by-law, CBPis has three organs.

General Board

The highest decision making organ, formed by all registered members with voting rights. It meets every April, elects the organs, approves the budget and discharges the Executive Board.

Executive Board

Four full and three substitute members. It represents the Society, decides on membership and titles, sets annual fees and oversees members’ ethical practice and CPD.

Auditing Board

Inspects the Society’s accounts at least once a year and reports to the Executive Board and the General Board.
